A P-type silicon carbide (SiC) wafer is a semiconductor substrate that is doped with impurities to create a P-type (positive) conductivity. The dry etching discussed in this text specifically pertains to the narrow application of processes using plasma discharge—either physical or chemical—to modify material surfaces.
