Semicorex SiC flat sheet membranes are the crucial elements for ultrafiltration membrane modules, and each membrane module consists of 42 pcs of flat sheet membranes. There are countless micropores distributed in the SiC flat sheet membranes. Once wastewater flows into ultrafiltration membrane modules, they precisely intercept activated sludge, colloids, bacteria and suspended particles via micropores in the SiC flat sheet membranes under the action of cross-membrane pressure, thus producing clean and pollution-free water.



Advantages of Semicorex SiC flat sheet membranes in MBR systems

MBR systems are composed of ultrafiltration membrane modules and biochemical reactors, which fully integrate biodegradation and membrane separation technologies. During wastewater treatment, the biochemical reactor is responsible for decomposing organic pollutants in the wastewater, while the ultrafiltration membrane module is responsible for solid-liquid separation of the wastewater. This is 3-4 times higher than conventional organic membranes. For the same wastewater throughput, less membrane area and smaller membrane tanks are required, significantly saving civil engineering investment.

Semicorex SiC flat sheet membranes’ surface carries strong negative charges to electrostatically repel sludge, colloids and oil contaminants, which enables them to have remarkable anti-fouling performance. Once fouled, full flux recovery can be achieved through cleaning with high-concentration acids, alkalis and oxidants, greatly extending cleaning cycles and simplifying routine maintenance.


4. Long service life and low lifecycle costs

Semicorex SiC flat sheet membranes' service life can exceed 10 years, which is 3 to 4 times longer than conventional organic membranes.
