Silicon Carbide DGS Rings

Semicorex silicon carbide DGS rings, consisting of a rotating ring and a stationary ring, are typically installed on the shaft end of rotating equipment (such as compressors and pumps). The rotating ring is connected to the shaft and rotates with it, while the stationary ring is fixed to the sealing cavity; their end faces mate to form a sealing interface. During operating, the spiral groove (or V-shaped or U-shaped groove) on the rotating ring’s end face draws upstream high-pressure isolation gas (such as nitrogen) into the sealing end face. When the gas flows through the grooves, it is compressed by the tapered channel structure, creating a stable gas film. This gas film will separate the rotating and stationary rings, thereby achieving non-contact operation.
