Semicorex SiC Flat Sheet Membrane is a high-performance ceramic ultrafiltration membrane made from recrystallized silicon carbide, delivering exceptional permeability, fouling resistance, and long-term stability in demanding water treatment applications. Semicorex combines advanced SiC material engineering, ultra-high-temperature sintering expertise, and strict quality control to deliver reliable, high-efficiency SiC Flat Sheet Membrane trusted by industrial and municipal systems worldwide.*
Material & Manufacturing Process
Semicorex SiC Flat Sheet Membrane is manufactured from high-purity silicon carbide (SiC) powder and sintered at ultra-high temperatures. Silicon carbide is widely recognized as one of the most hydrophilic ceramic membrane materials, offering outstanding anti-fouling performance, excellent chemical resistance, and long service life. Recrystallized silicon carbide structures can achieve an open porosity of more than 45%, ensuring high permeability and stable filtration efficiency.
The manufacturing process of the SiC Flat Sheet Membrane begins with mixing high-purity SiC powder into a homogeneous slurry. The mixture is then extruded and molded to form a green body, which is subsequently sintered at temperatures up to 2400 ℃ to create a mechanically robust ceramic substrate.
After substrate formation, a functional membrane layer is applied onto the SiC support and sintered. According to different filtration accuracy requirements, the coating and sintering process is repeated 2–4 times to precisely control pore size distribution and ensur
e membrane consistency. The final product is a high-performance SiC Flat Sheet Membrane designed for harsh operating environments.
Ultrafiltration Principle & Filtration Range
The SiC Flat Sheet Membrane is widely used in ultrafiltration (UF) and Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) systems. Ultrafiltration is a physical separation process driven by the pressure difference across the membrane.
The typical filtration pore size of a SiC Flat Sheet Membrane ranges from 2 to 100 nm, allowing effective removal of:
This makes the SiC Flat Sheet Membrane particularly suitable for applications requiring high effluent quality, stable flux, and strong resistance to fouling.
