Chemical vapor deposition CVD refers to the introduction of two or more gaseous raw materials into a reaction chamber under vacuum and high temperature conditions, where the gaseous raw materials react with each other to form a new material, which is deposited on the wafer surface.

Currently, many semiconductor devices employ mesa device structures, which are predominantly created through two types of etching: wet etching and dry etching. The dry etching discussed in this text specifically pertains to the narrow application of processes using plasma discharge—either physical or chemical—to modify material surfaces.

The third generation of semiconductor materials AlN belongs to the direct bandgap semiconductor, its bandwidth of 6.2 eV, with high thermal conductivity, resistivity, breakdown field strength, as well as excellent chemical and thermal stability, is not only an important blue light, ultraviolet materials, or electronic devices and integrated circuits, important packaging, dielectric isolation and insulation materials, especially for high-temperature high-power devices. In addition, AlN and GaN have a good thermal match and chemical compatibility, AlN used as GaN epitaxial substrate, can significantly reduce the defect density in GaN devices, improve device performance.

Behind every high-temperature process in wafer manufacturing lies a silent yet crucial player: the wafer boat. As the core carrier that directly contacts the silicon wafer during the wafer processing, its material, stability, and cleanliness are directly related to the final chip yield and process stability. Among various carrier materials, silicon carbide (SiC) boats are gradually replacing traditional quartz solutions, becoming the preferred solution for advanced processes and high-end equipment.

In the process of wafer preparation, there are two core links: one is the preparation of the substrate, and the other is the implementation of the epitaxial process. The substrate, a wafer carefully made of semiconductor single crystal material, can be directly put into the wafer manufacturing process as a basis to produce semiconductor devices, or further enhance the performance through the epitaxial process.
