By 2027, solar photovoltaic (PV) will overtake coal as the world's largest installed capacity. The cumulative installed capacity of solar PV nearly triples in our forecast, growing by nearly 1,500 gigawatts over this period, and will surpass natural gas by 2026 and coal by 2027.

Chemical vapor deposition CVD refers to the introduction of two or more gaseous raw materials into a reaction chamber under vacuum and high temperature conditions, where the gaseous raw materials react with each other to form a new material, which is deposited on the wafer surface.

Graphitising is the process of transforming non-graphitic charcoal into graphitic charcoal with graphite three-dimensional regular ordered structure by high-temperature heat treatment, making full use of electrical resistance heat to heat the charcoal material to 2300~3000 ℃, and transforming the charcoal with amorphous chaotic layer structure into ordered graphite crystalline structure.

Currently, many semiconductor devices employ mesa device structures, which are predominantly created through two types of etching: wet etching and dry etching. While the simple and rapid wet etching plays a significant role in semiconductor device fabrication, it has inherent drawbacks such as isotropic etching and poor uniformity, which result in limited control when transferring small-sized patterns. The term “dry etching” broadly refers to any non-wet etching technology used for removing surface materials and transferring micro and nano patterns, including laser etching, plasma etching, and chemical vapor etching. The dry etching discussed in this text specifically pertains to the narrow application of processes using plasma discharge—either physical or chemical—to modify material surfaces.

The fabrication of semiconductor devices primarily encompasses four types of processes: (1) Photolithography (2) Doping Techniques (3) Film Deposition (4) Etching Techniques The specific techniques involved include photolithography, ion implantation, rapid thermal processing (RTP), plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD), sputtering, and both dry and wet etching methods.
