Due to its unique crystal structure, Semicorex Hot-bent Glass Graphite Mold possesses a series of special properties, including high-temperature resistance, thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, exceptional shock resistance, lubricity, good chemical stability, and corrosion resistance.


1. High-Temperature Resistance: Graphite has an extremely high melting point, 3850±50 degrees Celsius in a vacuum. Unlike typical high-temperature resistant materials, graphite does not soften with increasing temperature; in fact, its strength increases.


2. Thermal and Electrical Conductivity: Graphite exhibits excellent thermal and electrical conductivity. Its thermal conductivity is the opposite of that of most metals, possessing a very high thermal conductivity coefficient at room temperature.


Graphite has extremely high thermal conductivity, approximately one-third that of copper, half that of aluminum, and twice that of steel at room temperature.

3. Exceptional Thermal Shock Resistance: Graphite exhibits anisotropic expansion, resulting in a small macroscopic coefficient of expansion. Under sudden temperature changes, graphite's volume change is minimal; coupled with its excellent thermal conductivity, graphite demonstrates excellent thermal shock resistance.


4. Lubricating Graphite: The interlayer structure is characterized by van der Waals forces, resulting in weak bonding and giving it lubricating properties. The lubricity of graphite depends on the size of the graphite flakes. Larger flakes result in a lower coefficient of friction and better lubricity.


5. Good Chemical Stability and Corrosion Resistance: Graphite exhibits excellent chemical stability at room temperature and is unaffected by strong acids, strong alkalis, and organic solvents; it also possesses extremely strong corrosion resistance.


Common Hot-bent Glass Graphite Mold designs include two-mode, three-mode, multi-mode, and multi-mode designs with glass beads. Generally, single-curved glass uses two-mode or three-mode designs, while double-curved or more complex curved glass uses multi-mode or multi-mode designs with glass beads.


The yield rate of 3D hot-bent glass remains a major headache for most manufacturers. A significant factor affecting yield is pitting, which is generally attributed to three main causes:


1) The hot-bent glass graphite mold does not meet hot-bending requirements. Its particle size (generally required to be 4μm or smaller) is too large, resulting in visible pores. After the glass softens, these large particles and pores easily create bumps.


2) Graphite powder sheds excessively due to raw materials, processing, and the usage environment. These powder particles become trapped between the forming surfaces, causing bumps in the glass.


3) During hot bending, gases escape from the glass and graphite at high temperatures. If the gas escapes poorly, more noticeable bumps appear in areas with high gas emission.


All three causes require meticulous control over the selection, processing, storage, and use of graphite. The third cause can be addressed through improvements in mold design, specifically by adding specific venting holes or venting channels. The design of venting channels follows two principles: ensuring smooth airflow between the forming chamber and the outside environment, and minimizing the entry of large foreign particles into the forming chamber.
