Semicorex Fused Zirconia Tubes are high-density MgO-stabilized zirconia ceramic tubes designed for long-term performance in extreme high-temperature and corrosive environments. Semicorex delivers fused zirconia tubes with consistent material purity, precision machining, and reliable quality control to ensure maximum lifetime in demanding industrial applications.*
Semicorex Fused Zirconia Tubes are high-quality ceramics made from very pure (high-purity) magnesia-stabilized zirconia (MgO-PSZ / MSZ) and have been developed to perform well under extreme thermal and chemical conditions. These tubes are highly regarded for their excellent ability to perform in high temperature and high corrosion environments, for example, high temperature furnaces, systems where the molten metal comes into contact with the tube, and in chemical processing equipment used in industrial applications.
Zirconia naturally has a high melting point; and through the use of an oxide (MgO), the MgO-stabilizing effect allows the Semicorex fused zirconia tubes to provide the best combination of mechanical strength, thermal shock resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance. Compared to traditional alumina tubes or other commonly used refractory materials, the MSZ zirconia tubes will have greater resistance to cracking due to thermal shock from repeated rapid cycles of heating and cooling; therefore, they are ideal for long-term use in severe service applications.
Magnesia-Stabilized Zirconia is a ceramic comprised of zirconium oxide that has been stabilized with magnesium oxide (MgO); the stabilizing agent improves toughness by preventing phase change cracking at high temperatures and provides a substantial improvement in durability.
Magnesia Stabilized Zirconia is widely used in applications for both industrial furnace systems, metal processing, and chemical environments, as the material retains its structural integrity under high thermal loads and resists chemical attacks from various slag sizes and molten materials, in addition to aggressive process atmospheres.
The high-purity raw materials selected and the fused manufacturing process employed by Semicorex create a consistent, uniform microstructure with high density and repeatability.
Semicorex fused zirconia tubes are widely used across industries requiring stable performance under high temperature and corrosive conditions, including:
Molten metal handling systems
Slag-resistant ceramic components
High-temperature protection sleeves
Furnace lining and support parts
Zirconia tubes are commonly used as thermocouple protection sheaths, especially in furnaces with corrosive atmospheres or molten metal splashing risk. Their density and thermal stability ensure accurate measurement and longer operational life.
High-temperature kiln fixtures
Tube components for glass melting furnaces
Corrosion-resistant ceramic sleeves
Heat treatment furnace assemblies
Sintering furnace insulation parts
Tube reactors and thermal processing equipment
Ceramic tubes used in corrosive gas flow systems
High-temperature filtration housings
Thermal barrier components
