Semicorex Flexible Graphite Foil Roll is made from flake graphite, molded through high-temperature. It is a great material for various applications. Semicorex supplies high-quality graphite products for worldwide customers.*
Semicorex flexible graphite foil roll is a layered composite material made from natural flake graphite through chemical intercalation, high-temperature expansion, and calendering. It can also be called expanded graphite foil. Its core structural features are:
1. The flexible graphite foil is formed by rolling expanded graphite particles (0.1-1mm in diameter) into a thin film with a thickness of 0.05-1mm, retaining nanoscale pores (specific surface area 20-50m²/g) and possessing a porous structure.
2. The bonding between the layers of the flexible graphite foil is achieved through van der Waals forces, without the addition of binders, resulting in higher flexibility compared to other types of graphite.
3. The flexible graphite foil has a pure carbon structure and no woven texture, unlike woven carbon fibers coated with resin and cured by heat.
Flexible graphite foil roll is made from flake graphite with high carbon content which is gone through chemical treatment, expanding under high temperature and then rolling. It has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and good elasticity, and is the basic material for making all kinds of reinforced graphite sheets, graphite tapes, packing and sealing gaskets. Its using temperature is -200~650°C(in the air medium), -200~3000°C( in non-oxidizing medium).

Fuel Cell Bipolar Plates: The distance between the positive and negative electrodes of a fuel cell significantly affects its power efficiency. Replacing traditional graphite plates with 0.1mm flexible graphite foil reduces thickness and increases stack power density by approximately 30%. As a highly flexible, self-sealing, and corrosion-resistant material, flexible graphite paper can be used as a battery sealant, effectively preventing battery corrosion, bulging, and even explosions.
Flexible graphite foil has excellent horizontal heat dissipation properties and can be used as a heat sink for Huawei base station 5G chips, a heat conductor for LED lights, and a stabilizing agent for some acid-base reactions.
Due to its radiation resistance and self-lubricating properties, it can be used as a valve sealant in nuclear power plants and a gasket for petrochemical pipelines with a leakage rate ≤10⁻⁶Pa·m³/s (National Standard GB/T 9129).
Future development directions: heat insulation layer for satellite battery compartments, graphite foil lining for artificial joints, heat dissipation film for supercomputing chips, and integrated carbon nanotube real-time monitoring sealing pressure sensor, etc.
